WHAT WE DO: HIV and AIDS

Since the early 1990s, Pathfinder International has integrated HIV and AIDS prevention and care into our work throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Given that Pathfinder has unique background in programs for women and families through facility- and community-based reproductive health and family planning services, we have been successful in offering HIV and AIDS counseling, testing, and treatment as part of our package of services to promote family health.

In recent years, Pathfinder has become a leader in HIV and AIDS, implementing major programs  to provide home-based care services, improve access to HIV testing and anti-retroviral drugs, offer support for children made vulnerable by HIV, and prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.  In addition, Pathfinder integrates family planning services with HIV prevention and treatment, and establishes specialized HIV prevention and care programs for vulnerable groups like youth and sex workers.
