Your convictions count. What you stand for influences those around you, and in turn they then influence others. Gradually the world begins to change, but it all starts with a few individuals like you who are willing to walk with Pathfinder to forge new paths.
Everyday, Pathfinder changes lives. Founded as a family planning organization more than 50 years ago, Pathfinder has always been at the forefront of social change. Our programs have expanded from the dedicated work of a few committed individuals to a broad-based network of support for women and families in more than 25 countries around the world.
In many parts of the developing world in which Pathfinder works, traditional values form major barriers to accessing reproductive health information and services, and opportunities for women. Often, cultural and religious beliefs clash with the concept of family planning, direct women to marry early and have many children—at the expense of their health and education—or support harmful traditional practices such as female genital cutting and forced early marriage. Pathfinder works with communities to explore these norms and values and to affect collaborative change. By reaching people in their homes through community-based reproductive health agents, by encouraging open dialogue with community and faith-based leaders, and by advocating within governments for women’s rights, Pathfinder forges new paths toward the empowerment and health of the world’s women.
We are asking you to do the same.
Pathfinder believes that women and girls are more able to bring about positive change in their lives if they are personally empowered through education, economic self-sufficiency, and access to quality reproductive health services. This is a courageous and challenging statement in many of the communities in which we work. But to save lives, we must first change lives.
So, let us walk together. Let us be strengthened by our convictions to support women in need. And let us push forward to enact social change so that women around the world have access to the quality reproductive health care they need and deserve.

Others might include writing a letter to Congress or making a call to your representative.
