MAJOR PROJECTS
Extending Service Delivery (ESD)
The Extending Service Delivery Project (ESD) is a five-year, USAID-funded initiative that addresses the need for quality, community-based reproductive health and family planning services and information for poor, hard-to-reach, and underserved populations.
ESD’s goal is to place reproductive health and family planning at the forefront of the world’s health, social, and economic development agendas. To meet this challenge, ESD works at the community level and collaborates with USAID missions and collaborating agencies, international development partners, United Nations agencies, the World Bank, and other donors.
Launched in October 2005, ESD is a five-year Leader with Associate Cooperative Agreement, managed by Pathfinder International and implemented in partnership with Management Sciences for Health, IntraHealth International, and Meridian Group International, Inc. ESD is currently building program relationships and/or carrying out work in several countries, including Bangladesh, Burundi, Egypt, Guatemala, Guinea, Kenya, Nepal, Southern Sudan, Tanzania, and Yemen.
