Make a Difference Campaign

Pathfinder International’s Make a Difference campaign was a special initiative to expand our ability to deliver quality family planning and reproductive health services to women and families in the world’s poorest countries. The campaign recently ended successfully in June 2010.

Gifts to the campaign over the last few years had a profound impact impact on the lives of individual women, their families, and their communities in the following areas:

• Revitalizing family planning services A cornerstone of reproductive health, Pathfinder works to strengthen family planning programs that have been weakened as a result of resources being diverted to fight AIDS and other diseases.
• Reducing preventable maternal deaths In response to unacceptable high rates of maternal mortality, Pathfinder develops innovative, cost-effective methods for addressing preventable and treatable conditions.
• Reaching adolescents with information and services Pathfinder programs targeting adolescents, especially girls, can help them avoid unplanned pregnancies, delay childbearing, and prevent HIV transmission.
• Strengthening community-based health systems Part of Pathfinder’s role in working with local leaders and community members is to strengthen the underlying systems in local institutions, such as workforce and financial management, that make community-based care programs operate effectively.
