Foundation Gifts
Pathfinder International is grateful to the many foundations that support our work around the globe. Foundations are often uniquely positioned to support the launch of innovative and creative projects, and Pathfinder has a history of successfully leveraging foundation grants to attract investments from other sources. We receive foundation grants for both general operating support and project-specific activities.
For several years, Pathfinder has actively worked to diversify our funding base by increasing support from private and foreign or multilateral sources. In 1995, just 4 percent of our budget came from non-US government sources. As of 2009, this number increased to approximately 24 percent of Pathfinder’s funding. Furthermore, twelve percent of our budget in 2009 came from foundation gifts alone.
