Flexible Family Planning, Reproductive Health, and Gender-Based Violence Services for Transition Situations Project
From 2008 - 2014, this project developed family planning and gender-based violence services for emergency and transitional situations in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This project conducted an integrated biological and behavioral surveillance survey (IBBS) among female sex workers in Mozambique. It measured HIV prevalence, related risk behaviors, and access to care services among this population.
This program worked to reduce the incidence of HIV infection and the number of unplanned pregnancies among the sexually active population; empower women and sexual minorities in Mozambique through advocacy and health promotion activities.
From 2010-2014, Pathfinder worked to support the Government of Mozambique to increase use of family planning and reproductive health services in Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, and Cabo Delgado provinces.
A five-year effort to improve NGO capacity in Angola with a special focus on improving health services, education, and water within eight provinces, worked directly with local NGOs on issues of governance, transparency, and democracy.
In Guinea, Pathfinder worked closely with USAID’s multi-sectoral project, “Faisons Ensemble,” to improve and increase use of family planning services, thereby reducing unmet needs in family planning.
This project increased prevention of mother to child transmission service successes and male involvement programming by integrating services, strengthening, and increasing health facilities and districts providing counseling and psychosocial support.
Expanding Safe Abortion Services through the Provision of an Integrated Package of Care, Treatment, and Prevention Services in Gaza and Inhambane Provinces, Mozambique
Pathfinder is providing technical assistance at the provincial level and expanding facility-community linkages to increase post-abortion contraception uptake.
