WHAT WE DO: HIV/AIDS
Since the early 1990s, Pathfinder International has integrated HIV/AIDS prevention and care into our work throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Given that Pathfinder has unique access to women and families through facility- and community-based reproductive health and family planning services, we have been successful in offering HIV/AIDS counseling, testing, and treatment as part of our package of services to promote family health.
In recent years, Pathfinder has stepped up our response to the epidemic by integrating HIV/AIDS prevention and care into all of our programs and by developing specialized projects that focus primarily on HIV/AIDS, often targeting vulnerable populations, such as youth, expectant mothers, and sex workers. Pathfinder has developed expertise in many key areas of HIV/AIDS programming, including HIV counseling and testing, preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission, and providing community home-based care for HIV-affected families and communities.
